1999 Solectria Force "All" ELECTRIC car with Cold A/C, LOW MILES (3168 miles at
listing) and EXTRA TIRES

$15,900

This car originally sold for over $30,000 brand new! A used hybrid/prius of
similar size can easily go for thousands more than what you can get this car
for from this auction. Not only that, but you will no longer be a SLAVE to the
gas pump. Imagine zipping pass your friends at the gas station (including the
ones who drive a prius) as you go to work and play in this Solectria Force.
Imagine no longer having to pay for maintenance on: OIL SYSTEMS, FUEL
INJECTION SYSTEMS, COOLING SYSTEMS, and EXHAUST SYSTEMS (smog checks not a
problem with this car, if you can find the tailpipe as there isnt any!) and so
on. There are very few "moving" parts and so there is very little maintenance
to be done on the vehicle; just tires and brakes (and even the brakes require
little attention due to the regenerative braking of the system). You may be
wondering what the costs are to charge this vehicle? Depending on your utility
company, a full charge might put you out about $0.50 cents. Mileage wise you
will get somewhere between 1-2 cents per mile (for the mathematically
challenged thats about $3-$6 to go 300 miles)! Can your gas guzzler or prius
do that?! For the environmentally conscience, you can cruise down the
interstate at 55-60 mph and feel great knowing that you have not contributed a
spec of carbon while driving the Solectria Force. Charging the Force is easy.
Just open the door where the fuel tank used to be and plug in with a standard
household plug. The charger is totally automatic, turning on when charging is
needed, and shutting off automatically when the batteries are fully charged.
Some states offer incentives for driving an all electric vehicle. For example,
Florida will allow you to drive in HOV lanes regardless of passenger count for
electric cars.

This car was previously owned and operated at a university, mostly for display.
Consequently it has very low miles and still very much has the "new" car look
despite its age. The body of the car is straight and free of rust. The
exterior paint is in good condition with possibly several scuffs that can be
anticipated for the age of the car. The interior is in like new condition.
There is air conditioning installed on the vehicle that is fully functional and
blows ice cold air. It has an FM/AM cassette stereo. The sealed lead acid
batteries are brand new and were installed October 2008. They should provide
you with many years of power (5+ years). The charger is totally automatic,
turning on when charging is needed, and shutting off automatically when the
batteries are fully charged. There is an extra set of tires and rims that come
with the car. These are the thinner tires and more economical for greatest
range. I currently have wider tires installed with premium rims for aesthetic
purposes. The title is free and clear and is currently titled and tagged for
the road with the State of Florida. The VIN number will reflect a chevy metro
as that is the original body car Solectria used to build the cars.

>From the service manual:

With over one million miles of on-road experience, Solectria presents the Force
electric sedan...........

Offering state-of-the-art electric vehicle technology in a safe, comfortable,
and spacious four-door sedan, the Solectria Force is the only production
electric sedan that met all of the grueling requirements established by the
nationwide electric utility industry and US Department of Energy coordinated EV
America program. Solectria EV's today deliver reliable performance in
challenging weather and geographic conditions ranging from Arizona to Vermont.

The Force features smooth, whisper-quiet, shift-free operation, regenerative
braking, a full-size trunk, and a convenient onboard charger requiring only a
standard household outlet. A Tri-Power Selector facilitates efficient driving
and maximizes battery life, while the battery thermal management system
maintains range in cold weather and the Cabin Preheat system warms your vehicle
before you climb in.

Low-maintenance, user-friendly, and cost-effective Solectria electric vehicles
make a positive environmental statement without sacrificing personal comfort.
Solectria...the leader in electric vehicle technology.

>From a previous Solectria spec sheet:

In testing by the California Air Resources Board on a Federal Urban Driving
Schedule, the Force completed

twice as many miles as its nearest competitor. The Air Resources Board had this
to say:

"The heart of the Force is in the controller, motor and charger. Developed by
Solectria, these

components combine high efficiency with low weight to produce an EV with the
most

impressive range and performance characteristics of any currently available
production EV

of which ARB is aware."

Solectria is the only private company selected by the California Energy
Commission to participate in their

Advanced Electric Vehicle Demonstration Program. Unlike the three other
companies chosen (Ford, Chrysler,

and Volkswagen), Solectria offers a product that is both affordable and in
regular production.
