We would like to thank Lowell Simmons and his team from Miramar High School for bringing out their EV Porsche to the Tower Shops car show last Friday night. Along with MHS's Porsche, South Plantation High brought our Solar Knight II and electric kart. We also had three waste vegetable oil vehicles come out to be a part of our alternative energy car show.
Miramar's Porsche and South Plantation's Solar Knight II stirred up a lot of interest. Our teams spoke to hundreds of car show patrons. We gave out 150 air pressure gauges donated from Broward County's Air Quality Division to encourage drivers to keep their tires properly inflated to help improve gas mileage, save energy, save money, and reduce emissions. We might try to do this again in the future and hope we might get a bigger showing of alternative energy vehicles.
