I think they need a good technical advisor/electrician/engineer. If they would rewrite their script, there are at least three Teslas in their area (Greg, Jeff and Steve). Steve got his March 4th. Maybe Vinny needs to take a ride in a Tesla.

He called to enquire about having an electric vehicle for the show. First he wanted to rent one then said they just wanted to shoot the car in the scene and wanted to know if we could help him out. I said we had several members with vehicles around and asked him what type he was looking for. His response was "one of the goofy, rounded EV's with no doors was what we were thinking of". I said, you mean a GEM neighborhood electric? He wasn't sure on the name. I asked him if he wanted a NEV / LSV like a GEM or a highway capable - higher speed car. We then told me it wasn't going to move in the show, just be parked in the garage as part of the scene, so something that was obvious as an electric would be preferred. So far this sounded good; then he laid out the scene for me: "Our hero is going to run into the parking garage in a large building and yank the cord from the wall that the car is using which will create a problem and short out the whole building creating a power outage". I was a little stunned at first and then informed him that we strive to promote electric vehicles and the ease of use - including charging. I mentioned that the safety of the vehicles (how safe they are to operate) is also something we promote as part of that. His response was basically disregard and stated "that's not the scene we are trying to create". I told him I would have to ask around, but if that was the effect he was going for, it didn't sound like something we could help him with. I wanted to send this out to give everyone a heads up, including our commercial partners, that this film group is looking for a car, but how they want to use it isn't going to do EV's any favors. If you get contacted by them, please let me know. Thanks, -- Shawn M.
