OK, so it was definitely a noob question, but after some searching I finally found the answer in this excellent posting - http://blog.funknstyle.com/?p=529
Thanks anway, Doug. From: Doug Murray Sent: Wednesday, 26 September 2007 6:03 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: SPS 2003 to MOSS2007 Migration - SiteDirectory? Hi, We've migrated from SPS 2003 to MOSS 2007 (thanks Chris) and have an issue with creating new sites. Our existing sites that we migrated across are all under http://<server>/sites. If you're at the top level and choose "create site" from the Site Settings menu you only get the option of creating a "Publishing Site". If you click on the Sites tab in the navigation bar then attempt to create a site it is created under http://<server>/SiteDirectory/ <http://%3cserver%3e/SiteDirectory/> . A user created a new site today and it was created in the SiteDirectory subfolder yet if I look at the Site Collection List in Central Administration, the new site does not show on the list, only the migrated sites in the /sites subdirectory. What I want to do is to configure MOSS to create all new sites in the /sites directory, and then I want to move the new site that was created into /sites. At the moment I can't do that because I can't work out how to create a new site where I want it. Thanks in advance, Doug. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ This email and attachments may contain privileged and confidential information and is intended for named addressee(s) only.
