Subject: SPS 2003 to MOSS2007 Migration - SiteDirectory?

Hi,

We've migrated from SPS 2003 to MOSS 2007 (thanks Chris) and have an
issue with creating new sites. Our existing sites that we migrated
across are all under http://<server>/sites.

If you're at the top level and choose "create site" from the Site
Settings menu you only get the option of creating a "Publishing Site".
If you click on the Sites tab in the navigation bar then attempt to
create a site it is created under http://<server>/SiteDirectory/
<http://%3cserver%3e/SiteDirectory/> . A user created a new site today
and it was created in the SiteDirectory subfolder yet if I look at the
Site Collection List in Central Administration, the new site does not
show on the list, only the migrated sites in the /sites subdirectory.

What I want to do is to configure MOSS to create all new sites in the
/sites directory, and then I want to move the new site that was created
into /sites. At the moment I can't do that because I can't work out how
to create a new site where I want it.

Thanks in advance,

Doug.
