Feel free to promote, but I think this list should be reserved to Q&A about sharepoint. if no one asked about backup, why start a thread? About the complexity - you must have reviewed it for different purposes than me. I know that their documentation on their site is (or rather - was. I didnt check lately) for an older version than the one currently available, and a lot of settings are undocumented, or documented wrong. It took a phone call to their developers in the US to resolve the issues.
perhapts because you are using an old version it worked for you... ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Reddy, Anand [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, 25 October 2007 12:15 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [OzMOSS] RE: SharePoint Tools!!! Guys In no way I am promoting this product. I am just sharing my experiences and making people aware of the tools available. There are so many “wonderful” 3rd party SharePoint tools which can ease your deployment. For Ishai Sagi: It just took me less than 30 minutes to install/configure and get this running and I have been using this product for the last two years without any problems. Regards Anand Reddy _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ishai Sagi Wed, 24 Oct 2007 17:51:00 -0700 I personally found their product hard to configure, hard to use, and it installs so much overhead (like apache web servers) that it is not funny! *are we using this mailing list to promote 3rd party products?* Ishai Sagi Solution Architect Information Management MVP Microsoft Office SharePoint Server Direct: 02 8001 7717 Fax: 02 8001 7778 Mobile: 0423 791 728 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web: www.uniqueworld.net<http://www.uniqueworld.net/> Blog: www.sharepoint-tips.com<http://www.sharepoint-tips.com/> innovative business solutions that make a difference From: Reddy, Anand Sent: Thursday, 25 October 2007 10:47 AM To: [email protected] Subject: SharePoint Tools!!! Hi All I have been using DocAve for item/site/sub-site level backups for the last 2 years. I personally prefer DocAve over the native SPS backup tool. They also have other SharePoint related products.
