Hi Sezai, Aaron,
Thanks for the links. Weve had a look at the application templates in the past but they dont really meet our requirements. The Community Kit was a step in the right direction, but again too basic. The MyTalk site is very nice and is what we are after for the Anon sign up side of things. So it looks like we may be in for a bit of development ourselves J. And perhaps theres a need for it out there for others... As and aside: Ive actually been wondering why our client is so adamant about using MOSS for this particular site there are other solutions that would suit them better. But thats not my call I guess. Thanks again for your help. You can try out the Event Planning application template here - http://www.wssdemo.com/application/event/default.aspx Im not sure if the Event Planning Application Template is designed to run anonymously over the web to allow people to register as users. It might only work in a collaboration type scenario internal to an organisation. There dont seem to be any sign-up or register options in the template. I think this is the very same reason why the SharePoint Community Kit was developed, none of the out-of-the-box SharePoint templates provide nice Anonymous user functionality. >> It will be a website (ie public facing) and needs to handle people registering as a user on the site, and then registering for events. The http://www.mytalk.com.au website is a great example for an Australian public anonymous MOSS 2007 website where an anonymous user can register as a user online (http://www.mytalk.com.au/pages/member.aspx). As far as I know all the anonymous registration functionality was custom built. If you dont need to provide the handle people registering as a user on the site functionality then your job will be a lot simpler. Of course if you are ready for a ton of custom development you can of course build pretty much anything you want on SharePoint ! Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone had come across or could recommend an Event Management product that slots into MOSS. We have a client who needs to manage events (Eg training courses, networking events, etc), take registrations, report on how many have registered etc. It will be a website (ie public facing) and needs to handle people registering as a user on the site, and then registering for events. Ideally it will be flexible enough to allow the client to add unlimited number of new fields to the events (Eg for location, dietary requirements, special instructions, etc). Any thoughts?
