I have done some work on a replacement advanced search web part. The main
reason for having to do this is due to the fact that someone at MS decided that
the connection between the web parts should be internal and therefore plugging
in your own custom results web parts without replacing the entire query/results
bits is impossible. So you're left with the suggestions already mentioned,
which may or may not provide what you are after.

I have not heard anything about this being reversed from anywhere - although it
may have been drowned out by the chorus of apologies from all and sundry about
having done this. ;-)

Also, after having installed SP1 this morning, I can confirm that this has not
changed.

I have a commercially available solution that might meet you needs. But we
should talk off-air, if at all. If you're interested send me a personal email.

Thanks stephen. That would be really helpful.

Cheers

Go the XSLT way it is much better.. If I can do it anyone can. There is a fair

See no rude words.

There were rumours that a future version the search webparts would be
overridable and give easy access to the behind-the-scenes query
object.

Was SP1 that version, or is that still far in the future?
