Subject: RE: [OzMOSS] Export to Excel option is gone

Hi Mike

This is because client integration does not natively support forms-based
authentication. FBA integration with client office applications is
unsupported and when you configured your FBA site you would have
selected a value to disabled client integration (this is by default).

The following article (Section: Configure a forms-based authentication
provider Number: 8) explains that client integration with FBA is
disabled by default. You can enable client integration with FBA but I am
not sure what type of integration you receive and what types of
documents are affected. If you test this can you please post back to the
forum.

I haven't heard of any work around for FBA and client integration as the
article states.

The Community Kit for SharePoint FBA release discusses client
integration with FBA. This may provide some results for you.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [OzMOSS] Export to Excel option is gone

Hi All:

I just extended a web application and added FBA to that site. So now I
have one web address operating under a extranet Zone with FBA and the
default zone is windows based Auth.

Anyways, I am logged into the FBA site with a farm admin id and a site
collection owner, but the "export to excel" option is gone on all of my
lists.

I do not believe it is a security issue because like I said, the id is a
Farm admin, site collection admin and site collection owner.

>From the Windows Based Authentication side, I log in with an id with the
exact same permissions and the export option is there on lists.

Anyone encountered this?

Thank you,

Mike MacDonald
