David, I have experience, but I don't understand what you are trying to do? Let people edit other people's profiles?

We are developing a web part that displays part of the user profile details that particular users can edit (who can't have access to the real user profiles pages). The problem we have at the moment is trying to display the appropriate controls based on the profile property type (string, Person, HTML, etc) and other information like "allow Multiple values" and "choice list". For example, if the data type is string, then we should show a text box. If it's multi-line rich text then show the rich text editor control, if it's a list of values then show the list validater controls, etc. Has anyone had experience with this kind of thing before?
