Guys are also talking about only backup the database and when do a recovery, manipulate the configurations to swap the new sharepoint to point to the backup database. But this is only theoretical and haven't been practically tried out. hope this make any sense to you Tony Tan Information Technology Wollongong City Council Ph 02 4227 7646 "The opinions expressed in this message are my own and do not necessarily represent the opinions and policies of Wollongong City Council." ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of MacDonald, Mike Sent: Saturday, 22 March 2008 5:18 To: [email protected] Subject: [OzMOSS] Sharepoint Disaster Recovery All: I am in the process of planning out a disaster recovery plan for Sharepoint. I set up a Virtual Server to mirror my production environment (IIS, SQL, Sharepoint, .net) except I cannot restore my sharepoint backups on to the virtual server (easily at least), I am encountering access issues and database issues. ANYWAYS.. I am curious to know how others are handling disaster recovery. I am starting to look at imaging options and replication with a virtual server. Whoever has a minute to respond to this, I would appreciate it!!!~ Thank you, Mike ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System.
