Subject: RE: [OzMOSS] Sharepoint Disaster Recovery

Hi Mike,

You might get a sharepoint migration tool to pull out all your existing
content onto the virtual server and than snapshot the virtual server or
simply backup the virtual server image file. Guys are also talking about
only backup the database and when do a recovery, manipulate the
configurations to swap the new sharepoint to point to the backup
database. But this is only theoretical and haven't been practically
tried out.

hope this make any sense to you

Subject: [OzMOSS] Sharepoint Disaster Recovery

All:

I am in the process of planning out a disaster recovery plan for
Sharepoint. I set up a Virtual Server to mirror my production
environment (IIS, SQL, Sharepoint, .net) except I cannot restore my
sharepoint backups on to the virtual server (easily at least), I am
encountering access issues and database issues.

ANYWAYS..

I am curious to know how others are handling disaster recovery. I am
starting to look at imaging options and replication with a virtual
server.

Whoever has a minute to respond to this, I would appreciate it!!!~

Thank you,

Mike
