I have a client who wants to roll up content on their home page from multiple sub site news items (Web content pages) within their site collection. What they are after is to allow users to select the content that gets rolled up into their view. My initial thoughts on doing this was to create check box options in their mysite profile to allow them to opt in or out of content they want to see, then I could just audience target Content QWP based on their profile options. This would be say 5 options within their profile with 5 audience targeted web parts on the home page to display the content they have opted in for. However, they would really like to have the content display in appropriate date order regardless of which sub site it came from, hence the individual audience targeted web parts won't be able to achieve that consolidated look of the subscribed content. Does anyone know of any third party web parts which may provide this subscription capabilities to content within a SharePoint site? Unfortunately due to tight delivery timeframes, we probably won't have time to custom build anything for the initial release. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
