Have you been able to add anything, or are you just starting. Do you have permission to add webparts to the page?

It is a fully "out of the box" installation, with no customisations. I'm getting an error when trying to add ANY of the default webparts included with it (content editor, image viewer etc) The error is as follows: "Unable to add the selected web part(s). Content Editor Web Part: An error has occured." I've had a look around on google, and the only results I've seen seem to refer to having edited the web.config, however they don't mention how to resolve it. I'm pretty sure the web.config file hasn't been modified, but may be wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions?
