Hey all,
Thanks to Nigel's tip below, I've managed to get the problem solved. The error in the Sharepoint logs is as follows: 05/21/2008 08:44:58.32 w3wp.exe (0x0EA0) 0x0EE0 Windows SharePoint Services Web Parts 89ku High Failed to add webpart http%253A%252F%252Fextranet%252F%255Fcatalogs%252Fwp%252FMSContentEditor %252Edwp;Content%2520Editor%2520Web%2520Part. This explains why the error wasn't seen previously. The access mappings didn't include the "https" url, which is what I've been using to access the site recently. Yes, I'm a full admin on the site. I've been creating the teamsites etc for the users as needed. I have previously been able to add webparts. This is a semi-recent occurrence. Something which may be related - while I was on leave a few weeks ago, a colleague tried creating a new teamsite, and got "Error. File not found." After clicking 'Create' on the New Sharepoint Site page. Do you have permission to add webparts to the page? Cheers Craig From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Nigel Hertz Sent: Tuesday, May 20, 2008 10:53 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [OzMOSS] Error adding webparts Hi all, We have an extranet that is using WSS 3. It is a fully "out of the box" installation, with no customisations. I'm getting an error when trying to add ANY of the default webparts included with it (content editor, image viewer etc) The error is as follows: "Unable to add the selected web part(s). Content Editor Web Part: An error has occured." I've had a look around on google, and the only results I've seen seem to refer to having edited the web.config, however they don't mention how to resolve it. I'm pretty sure the web.config file hasn't been modified, but may be wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions?
