Why deploy it, unless this is a feature you want to use across multiple sites and domains?
1. Drop a favicon.ico file to the Images directory of your MOSS site. 2. Add <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/images/favicon.ico" /> to the head of your Master Page(s). 3. Check-in, publish, approve and refresh the site. Beware of typical caching in IE.
