As mentioned, it's possible.

You essentially need to either buy a product that will do it for you, or 
consider some other options - such as segregating the UK office into their own 
site collection (on a front end web server on the some domain hosted over 
there), and then when they wish to jump over to your content, they can, but 
it's hitting your servers.

You can use the sharepoint migration APIs to implement georeplication (there 
are some examples in there), see here:

Subject: [OzMOSS] MOSS replication

Hey all

We are about to commence the setup of a MOSS environment for our UK office. We 
basically want them to have the same content etc that we have in Australia.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to do this?

I've read a couple of articles that say geo-replication isn't possible. Would 
it be as simple as adding the servers to the farm?
