In Sharepoint 2007, there are out of the box Audit logs, which can be turned on via Site Actions -> Site Collection Audit Settings. The types of events that can be audited is limited. Does anyone know if there is any way to generate an audit log of which sites have been created and which sites have been deleted through an out-of-the-box sharepoint utility?
