Just a quick note for those who don’t know yet. Team Edition for Database Professionals is set to RTM on 30th
November. http://blogs.msdn.com/robcaron/archive/2006/11/14/1079926.aspx CTP7 is the latest version that you can get your hands on,
be aware that it needs Visual Studio Team Suite (licensed or 180trial) installed
to run. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=69796 Some features that we’re all looking forward to: ·
Place your database scripts under source control ·
Compare/diff two database schemas (tables,
procs, views, everything) ·
Unit testing ·
Refactoring (rename a table and it will rename
all the related procs, views, etc) ·
Test data generation (if you’re not
allowed access to the production DB, you can generate data that “looks”
like production) As Rob Caron also mentioned in his recent blogging spree: http://blogs.msdn.com/robcaron/archive/2006/11/14/1079990.aspx The MSF for Agile Software development (Process Guidance
only) has been updated to version 4.1 which includes stuff for the DB Pro
edition. Regards, Grant Holliday Suite 206 Nolan Tower | 29
