That's right, you should just be able to use the SQL Reporting Services
Configuration Manager and get it to recreate the virtual directories on the
default web site, so long as you have the encryption key.

do you have your reporting services encryption key backed up? I'll gather a
couple of posts that I had in msdn forums regarding getting reporting services,
and the warehouse, up and running again.

Matt,

You are a legend!! Well, nearly.. My sharepoint site is up and working
again just need to get reporting services fixed. I had to change the
application pool for all virtual directories under the default web site to
TFSWSS app pool.

Cheers

Chris

Yeah it looks like it creates TFSWSS app pool - try set it to this, and see
what happens then when you try reconfigure reporting services... and see if you
can hit the project site.

Subject: [OzTFS] Recreating TFS Sharepoint and ReportServer Sites

All,

Whilst I was away on holiday's it looks like some bright spark deleted the
default web site on my TFS box. Don't ask, but the offender will be taken out
and shot.

Enough of the sob story, on with the real problem. Now I have to try and
recreate the default web site for share point and reporting services. As this
is kinda like a move from one hardware device to another I thought I would look
at the "How to: Move Your Team Foundation Server from One Hardware
Configuration to Another" guide
(http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms404869(VS.80).aspx
<http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms404869(VS.80).aspx> ) and follow
the section Restore Team Project Web Sites. Unfortunately this doesn't seem
to have worked fully. Firstly, when I bring up the sharepoint site I get a
403 you are not authorised to view this page from any page served from
"/_layouts/1033/viewlsts.aspx?BaseType=1".

Secondly, when I run the Reporting Service Config Tool to set the Web Service
Identity I get the following error message.

ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.WMIProviderException: An unknown error has
occurred in the WMI Provider. Error Code 80070003

   at
ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.RSReportServerAdmin.SetWebServiceIdentity(String
 applicationPool)

Any ideas or suggestions would be welcomed.

Cheers

Chris
