I can't remember where but I did see explicit instructions NOT to
install WSS 3.0 with Team System. And yes, I have experienced the same
issue you mentioned.

Subject: [OzTFS] TFS Sharepoint Site + Customising / Adding WebParts &
WSS 3.0?

Hi folks,

has anyone tried customising the a TFS Project's sharepoint site ..
like adding a WebPart? If so do u get some expected error' message?

From a quick search on the net, it seems to be related to the fact
that the webparts are made for .net 1.1 or something and the tfs sites
are running under 2.0 mode or something.

So .. a quick search again found that there is a fix, but you have
to email MS for the KB-Fix. They suggest you wait for the next service
pack for WSS 2. Hmm ... ok. Looking around there is no WSS 2.0 SP3 or
Post-SP2 patch. But there IS WSS 3.0. (
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/windowsserver/sharepoint/download.mspx
<http://www.microsoft.com/technet/windowsserver/sharepoint/download.mspx
> ).

So .. is it worth it / wise to install wss 3.0 on the TFS server?

Has anyone had any luck with customising their tfs project sharepoint
sites?
