Niels,

Unfortunately in v1 of Team Build there is no way to pass parameters to a build
when starting it but in "Orcas" you will be able to.

What I did was split our build process into two files, one which contained all
of the configurable properties (TFSBuild.proj) and one which contained the
target overrides to implement our build process (the name of this one is up to
you) and this was then included in the TFSBuild.proj using the <Import
Project="" /> directive.

Subject: [OzTFS] Send parameters to build

Hi,

I would like some of the behavior of my build to vary (like very to deploy,
which database to update).

My question is Can I pass parameters to a build?

Secondly, Can I alter the Build Team Project dialog in Visual Studio so the
user can set the parameters?

If I can't alter the GUI, can I have some "shallow" builds that just set
parameters and call another build to avoid duplication between the builds?

Hope that one of you can help me out, or maybe suggest an alternate approach to
my issue?

Kind regards,

Niels Tindbæk
System Architect
