Scott,

That's awesome - I'm particularly pleased that you create an AD group and
then do all the operations against that, makes it much easier to maintain
membership correctly, definitely the best way to go.

My only bit of feedback is that you might want to consider talking about the
licensing implications upfront. Obviously, you need to pay Microsoft for a
TFS CAL for every person that you connect into your TFS instance. When
dealing with external folks, there is also the TFS External Connector
License which allows you to connect an unlimited number of folks from
outside your organization. However, many people are not aware of the
licensing implications of doing what you propose (the same implications are
true if you expose an external, hand written ASP page that collates a bug
report and automatically adds data to TFS). From our point of view, it is
the license implications in TFS V1 that has prevented us from exposing our
TFS WIT data directly to our customers in the past as we would have trouble
absorbing the 500 USD required for each customer CAL or the ~ 14000 USD
required for an external connector license.

Therefore, it may be worth warning folks about the licensing issues upfront
in your doc just so anyone reading it doesn't forget.

That said - nice work on the document.

Martin.

Subject: [OzTFS] HOWTO: Secure Team Plain Web Access for External Clients

I've put a post and pdf together to provide some guidance on how to allow
clients to access your Team Plain Web Access but still lock most things down
so they don't have full reign over your sensitive artifacts.
