Thanks for the help. I'd actually done all that. I'd done heaps of googling for "2 VSS to 1 TFS" etc, but the one thing I hadn't done (stupid me) was search on the error code, ie "TF60099". I just gave it a go and sure enough it picked up something in MSDN Forums.
http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=396685&SiteID=1 http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=279528&SiteID=1 I had created FunkyApp1 and FunkyApp2 folders in the same changeset. Deleting FunkyApp2 and recreating it fixed the problem. How funny is that? Hopefully fixed in the new TFS Migration and Synchronization Toolkit <http://www.codeplex.com/MigrationSyncToolkit> . I wouldn't have had the prob if I did it your way and let VSSConverter create the folders. Anyway its all hands on deck again as I migrate the rest of our projects over to TFS. I've done a few migrations in my time :-) MSDN docco is quite comprehensive: * Walkthrough: Preparing to Migrate from Visual SourceSafe to Team Foundation <http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms181246(VS.80).aspx> * Walkthrough: Migrating from Visual SourceSafe to Team Foundation <http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms181247(VS.80).aspx> Have you removed the report files from the current directory? Otherwise the converter things you're trying to do an incremental migration. The docco sometimes reuses the config files as "settings.xml" - I tend to create analyser_settings.xml and migration_settings.xml. You don't need to pre-create the folder structure. If the destination folder does not exist, the converter will create it for you. The only exception is if the destination folder is a team project. You should have two migration_settings.xml files. Each one should look something like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <SourceControlConverter> <ConverterSpecificSetting> <Source name="VSS"> <VSSDatabase name="c:\VSSDatabase"></VSSDatabase> <UserMap name="c:\Migrate\Usermap.xml"></UserMap> </Source> <ProjectMap> <Project Source="$/" Destination="$/MyClient1/FunkyApp1"></Project> </ProjectMap> </ConverterSpecificSetting> <Settings> <TeamFoundationServer name="server_name" port="port_number" protocol="protocol"></TeamFoundationServer> </Settings> </SourceControlConverter> Regards, Grant Holliday Readify | IT Manager M: +61 402 414 446 | E: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Scott Wakefield Sent: Friday, 4 May 2007 11:52 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [OzTFS] 2 VSS projects migrated into 1 TFS project Hi Everyone, Has anyone successfully migrated 2 vss projects/databases into a single TFS project? I have created a TFS project with the following folder hierarchy: $/MyClient1 $/MyClient1/FunkyApp1 $/MyClient1/FunkyApp2 I successfully migrated FunkyApp1 from its own VSS db, but when I try to migrate FunkyApp2 into its own folder I get the following error: TF60099: Given folder mappings do not match with last migrated mappings. Following was the original mapping please use this only for incremental migration. <From>$/</From><To>$/MyClient1/FunkyApp1</To> Any help or possible places to get help is gratefully received. :-) I'm sure someone else must have tried to do this, or do people just do a 1:1 migration of VSS to TFS projects?
