There are a few good add ons that you may want to look into, Team Plain for one which is a web interface for TFS. We installed it a while ago and it's proven to be a useful tool. There is also a power tools package that you may want to install. By default, TFS doesn't require developers to put comments into a check in which we needed and they are included with the package: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=5422499 When your running through the TFS install walk through, just make sure that you follow each instruction step by step because it's not that forgiving and it took 2 attempts on my first install, rebuilding the box for the 2nd attempt.
