The problem is that I inherited this project and to be honest, I'm not quite
sure about the version, is there a way of finding out?
This also unfortunately means I'm not quite sure about the setup in general.

The way the users have been set up, is that in the Team Foundation
Administrators group is a group from the win 2003 server TFS is sitting on. In
that group is a domain security group which has our developers.

As new users can connect from machines that are known to be able to connect, I
didn't think it was a user limit restriction problem. However now I'm starting
to wonder if it might have something to do with that anyway.

Could it be that the TFS server has registered the first five machines to
connect to it and now won't allow any news ones?

Subject: [OzTFS] TF31002 Error

As this is my first post on this list, I'll start with saying hello to
everyone. J

Now onto my question for you good people, we have a problem connecting to TFS
from some of our developer machines (most of them in fact), it seem really
random, the same user can connect from some machines but not from others. The
machines have either Win XP Pro or Win Server 2003, doesn't seem to make any
difference.

The error we get is the error TF31002: Unable to connect to this Team
Foundation Server....

>From blogs and forums I've exclude these possible causes:

- DLL version: all machines client machines have version 8.0.50727.147 for the
file TFSUI.DLL

- User permissions: user can connect from other machine

- Network problems: the user can call the TFS web services
http://<ipaddress>:8080/Services/v1.0/ServerStatus.asmx<http://%3cipaddress%3e:8080/Services/v1.0/ServerStatus.asmx>
 and get the pages showing.
However after upgrading to TFS SP1 and Win 2003 SP2 the actual tests will only
run on the server itself

One thing I've been told, is that depending on the version of TFS there might
be a restriction on number of users, and if that's the problem it sometimes
manifest in odd ways and this could be something like that. I wouldn't think
that be the case this time as new users can log in from some machines but not
others etc.
How can I check which version I have and how many user it allows(it wasn't me
who did the initial installation and I can't get hold of that info)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Ola
