Well it looks like I have to install part of VS Team Testers to allow
our developers to view the test results of a Manual Test Case created
and run by a user using VS TT.

I installed only the Team Manager module of the VSTT install and it all
works fine.

Does anyone see any problems with this approach?

Cheers,

David

Subject: [OzTFS] How to view VS for Testers test results in Developer
edition?

Hi,

I am playing around with test results and am having trouble viewing the
test results for a Manual Test (Word Format) that was performed as a
test using Visual Studio for Testers.

What we are trying to do is as follows:

1. Our system testers run a manual test using VS for Testers.
2. They then publish the results to the TFS server.
3. Next, they attached the test results to the bug they create so
that the developer who is assigned the bug can view the test results.

When the developer picks up the bug, they can see that a test result has
been attached to it (in the Links tab) and when they try to open the
results by double clicking on the link we get a Visual Studio error
"Cannot show result details: unknown test type"

The developers can create the Manual Test so its not a problem with the
templates stored in Microsoft Visual Studio
8\Common7\IDE\ItemTemplatesCache\CSharp\1033, but I can't work out what
the problem is...

Anyone have any ideas or has anyone successfully used Testers edition
with Developer edition.

I'd prefer not to have to install Testers edition on each developers
machine just so that they can see the test results that our testers
attach to a bug.

Cheers,

David
