You are a gem, thanks for that mate. Looks like SP1 is just a really
bad story and I'm glad we don't have to go there.

[SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Hi Justin,

I reckon you guys would have the biggest TFS install in Australia - I'd
be keen to know if anybody eles was doing this.

SP1 Issues

SP1 *is* supported on a clustered data-tier. However you may have read
that people had problems installing it.

See:
http://blogs.msdn.com/bharry/archive/2007/02/08/problems-installing-tfs-
sp1.aspx

The reason they had problems is because of the Quiescing Hotfix that is
a pre-requisite to SP1 had problems.

There is now an updated Quiescing GDR Fix that works.

Upgrading from TFS2005 to TFS2008 (Orcas)

You will be able to upgrade from TFS2005 (with and without SP1) to
TFS2008.

"You can either have VS2005 RTM or SP1 version."

[SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

My organisation is planning to move from a single-instance data tier to
a clustered tier over the weekend. I understand SP1 is not supported on
a cluster, for us it seems more important to have fail-over at the
moment.

Will the migration to TFS2008 require TFS2005 SP1 first?

Cheers,

Justin.
