There's nothing unique about a WIX project type, and we have one under TFS version control playing quite happily. Might be something to do with the solution file. 2 cents worth: 1. Need to have the solution file checked out 2. Try the "File --> Source Control" menu rather than the right-click context menu, there are more options available.
