Dear Aloysius:

Something you can do is to modify the Work Item Template for QoS and add a
field bound to a Global List with the category. That way you can use the
Areas for the project features, but share the global list among projects.

Subject: [OzTFS] TFS bug classification query

Hi,

Does anyone have any thoughts on this:

I have a question about classifying bugs (work items). I'm using the
out-of-the-box MSF Agile 4.2 process template.

Suppose I have two bugs related to a single feature that my application
provides: one is a performance issue, the other is to do with usability,
both of which are QoS concerns.

If I've setup my project Areas by feature, then how do I tag each work item
with the appropriate QoS attribute so that I can run the right reports
later?

e.g. show me all the performance issues I've got; show me all the bugs for
this particular feature; show me bugs for this feature broken down by QoS
concern.

I suppose I'm thinking that each bug needs to be classified by its
functional area and its non-functional (QoS) classification.

Is there any support for this out of the box? Or am I approaching this the
wrong way?

Any thoughts much appreciated.

I've just posted this to MSDN:
