Justin,

The build server will also have the build server service installed which is
unfortunately patched by the TFS service pack. Therefore you will need to
install both the TFS service pack and the VS service pack on the build
machine - a mismatch will likely cause problems.

Thanks William. Any order the SP's can be installed, if both need to be
added?

I'll also go with what Rory said (re: what to install on the Build server),
and only do VS SP on a build server cause that should only have VS installed
on it.

You only need to install the VS SP on the TFS Server if you have installed
Visual Studio OR the Team Foundation Client (which you may have installed
for TSWA) on the TFS Server. Some people also install Visual Studio on the
TFS server as an administration tool.

Grant, do we need to install both the VS SP and the TFS SP on the TFS
Server? If so, what order and why? (I would have thought we would have only
installed the TFS SP, on the TFS Server.

Cheers :)

You need at least the TFS server pack for Team Build.

Then if you have the Test/Dev SKU's installed on the build box - then you
will need the VS service pack as well.

I've install the VS service pack on the developer workstations. I've
installed both the VS service pack and the TFS service pack on the TFS
server.

What do I need to install on the Team Build machines?
