Hi All I'm looking for a solution to merging down our shared source branches. One way we did have this working was simply on a continuous integration build running the command check out, merge and check in. However, this approach does not get checked and can result in merge failures or conflicts. The only approach I can think of is to create a work item, potentially of type Merge, when the user checks in a change on a branch. Then enforce the check in policy that if you have a work item type of merge assigned to you, your check in must associate to that work item and you must have merged files in the file list.
I'm just looking for advice on other peoples solutions, suggestions or experiences with this.
