Further updates: In the old instance we were using Conchango Scrum template which I believe customises everything including Warehouse schemas, stored procs etc. The TFS2008 upgrade box did not seem to like the Scrum template install. These issues could be a result of the failed Scrum upgrade.
If so I'm not sure what are the options. How would I go about cleaning the Scrum bits that don't work? My other option is to install the latest Scrum template for TFS 2008 and hope that it cleans up old mess before installing the new template. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of MULYE,Yogesh Sent: Monday, 3 November 2008 13:30 To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [OzTFS] RE: TFS Warehouse Issues Hi guys, We are having a similar issues with the Warehouse Reports but only with WorkItems not being updated. The rest of the measures seem to be working. I see a couple of errors every hour in the event log *********************** The following information is part of the event: TF53010: The following error has occurred in a Team Foundation component or extension: Date (UTC): 3/11/2008 12:56:13 AM Machine: EPTFS011 Application Domain: /LM/W3SVC/1865943291/Root/Warehouse-4-128700645448798050 Assembly: Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Warehouse, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a; v2.0.50727 Process Details: Process Name: w3wp Process Id: 1392 Thread Id: 6668 Account name: someserviceaccount Detailed Message: Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Adapter: Exception during Run - System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Adapter.Adapter.PopulateFacts( PayloadRow dr) at Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Adapter.Adapter.MakeDataChange s().. ************************* TF53010: The following error has occurred in a Team Foundation component or extension: Date (UTC): 3/11/2008 12:56:13 AM Machine: EPTFS011 Application Domain: /LM/W3SVC/1865943291/Root/Warehouse-4-128700645448798050 Assembly: Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Warehouse, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a; v2.0.50727 Process Details: Process Name: w3wp Process Id: 1392 Thread Id: 6668 Account name: someserviceaccount Detailed Message: TF51209: A run-time error System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Adapter.Adapter.PopulateFacts( PayloadRow dr) at Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Adapter.Adapter.MakeDataChange s() at Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Warehouse.AdapterWrapper.RunTimerAdapter() occurred on adapter Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Adapter.Adapter.. ************************** The above errors clearly point to a failure of the WorkItemTracking adapter. We have moved/restored the databases from TFS2005 to new hardware and upgraded to TFS2008sp1. Reports were working before the move/upgrade. I have done some queries on the TfsWarehouse table [Work Item] to find that there were no additions since the upgrade. Only thing left for me to do is increased logging as mentioned in the troubleshooting article on the Warehouse web service. I found something related to our problem but not sure if that would help http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=mi crosoft.public.vsnet.enterprise.tools&tid=6b238aab-2938-4220-9e93-abc5d0 73c52f&cat=&lang=&cr=&sloc=&p=1 Any more troubleshooting tips would be appreciated. There is nothing in the trace output that suggests any particular adapter is failing either. It looks like the last good results were produced on the day before our upgrade from TFS 2005 to TFS 2008. The upgrade was a restore based move followed by an upgrade to 2008.
