My students, 6-8th multi-age, will be starting Lit Circles (more like a combination lit circle ideas with a focused book group) with a Russian theme. I am looking to combine some Geography, Social Studies, History and Lit together. I know one book is "The Endless Steppe." Is "I Am David," about Russia? I Has anyone done a Russian lit group and or taught about Russia that could offer some resources or ideas for a Russian Steppe activity? I will share what ever I compile! Also I am thinking of having the kids show their learning through a letter, journal or diary writing activity that will tie in the reading with the history.Thoughts?
