Many teachers complain about the work load required in
correcting, providing feedback and assessment. I have
even seen some incredible activities and lessons
passed over because the teacher didn't want to be
burdened by the grading involved.

I have found the writer's workshop methodology to be
helpful in all my content areas to help ease the
workload and provide an effective way to meet with
students. I "go" to the students for conferencing and
schedule our "dates." That way ,they can work on other
parts of an activity , writing project or map until I
get there and they seem more prepared to get what they
truly need from me. I have found this most useful. How
about you? How have you handled the load? Any useful
tips?

Also I have a friend who still practices the "Exchange
papers and correct your neighbors work." Other than
peer-edit or peer-reviewing I don't use this method.
