It started with my husband. He asked whom we thought
likely was most recognized face in the world. ( My
answer was Jesus, my daughter thought Hitler and my
husband Mona Lisa!) So the conversation progressed to
what faces we thought my middle schoolers would
recognize and who perhaps they should know but
probably don't. I am working on the following ideas.
Students will number a paper with amount of images in
the a Keynote slide show. As I show each slide
students list how many faces they recognize and a
short blurb about the who, whats, and whys...They
shall leave blank those of which they do not know. I
am still trying to decide what kind of follow up and I
will ask the kids to help of course. Maybe shared
research of the unknown faces?...Creation of their own
group keynote? A skit with masks of the contrasting
faces...?
Last year they did and incredible job with "We Didn't
Start the Fire" and followed up research by writing
updated lyrics...

Some ideas for the Keynote

Judge Judy/Chief Justice John Roberts
Princess Diana/ Mother Theresa
MLKJr./Malcolm X
Oprah/ Harriet Tubman
Hitler/Gandhi
Mona Lisa/ Davinci
George Bush/FDR

Please add to the list
