I read Louisiana Sky and Part of Me by Holt--I loved them both! Harris
and Me by Paulsen 6th and 7th graders loved. Northern Light by Jennifer
Donnelly was excellent!

Thank you, Heather. I will put those two books in my class library after
I
read them. Will go buy them today.

I really need a few suggestions for 7th grade book club or class reads
that
are winners. I have not had time to read many myself this year. If
anyone
has suggestions of books that worked for you for this age group, please
post. I sure appreicate your time and insight.

I've actually thought about this a lot. I don't think 7th graders could
really get it as much as 8th graders can. However, if you have a mature
7th
grader, I think it would be fine. Now, just the content in the book I
think
7th graders can handle easy, but I don't think they can appreciate it as
much as 8th and up.

If I had 7th and 8th grade classes, I would have the book in my library
available to 7th graders, but would do a book club with it for the 8th
graders only.
