In our sixth grade, we read five classroom novels each year. (We expect
the books to be read at home, but we assign homework from them and
discuss them during class.) In addition, we assign between 2 and 4 book
reports during the year.

Some of our parents feel that we are not assigning enough reading, and
other parents feel the amount of reading is too much for their child.
Since we have heterogeneous classes, it's difficult to please everyone.

Subject: [LIT] number of novels in middle school

How many books do you expect your middle school students to read in a
year? In my school I think we're not expecting enough reading.
