I teach 7/8 Language Arts. Last year I used Reading/Writing Workshop and
was really impressed with student engagement and the quality of work. This
year our school adopted the SpringBoard Language Arts Curriculum (6-12) from
College Board, so I had to put aside Reading/Writing Workshop. I wasn't
that impressed with SpringBoard--I like their strategies (TPCASTT,
SOAPSTONE, Socratic Seminar, TPS, etc) but a bulk of the activities seem to
be overkill. I know that many of you use the workshop approach, but have
any of you used SpringBoard? I am planning on approaching my admin
about going back to a worshop emphasis that is supplemented by activities
from SpringBoard. Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Connie Fletcher
