Are you sure that you aren't thinking of Rick Wormelli of Day One and Beyond? I was at the Philadelphia conference and I don't remember Bill Denney, but I could be wrong. I haven't found my catalog from the conference.

When I went to the NMSA annual conference in Philadelphia, 2 years ago, I saw him speak. Teachers were packed in, sitting on the floor, enthralled. He did a wonderful presentation on using game shows to help all kinds of kids. As a child of the sixties who grew up on game shows, and still uses Jeopardy to help kids review for tests, I was very impressed. I had to leave early unfortunately because I was meeting my cousin and his family, and I can honestly say, I was so sad not to see the whole presentation (even though I am very fond of my cousin and his family!). Sometimes I learn from a speaker something I hadn't even thought of, and sometimes just to be motivated again. Please let us know if you decide to go; I think it would be a wonderful way to get some new strategies, etc. Laurie Wasserman, NBCT/TLN Grade 6 Special Needs Teacher Medford, Massachusetts [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ The Literacy Workshop ListServ http://www.literacyworkshop.org To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/lit_literacyworkshop.org.
