What an interesting question and I am realizing as i read the answers, how
much we all go through. i am sure many of us can relate to the 'looks' and
'comments' when we do a little more...ok, a lot more. lol! i have found that
the 'other' teachers that do the same seem to gravitate to each other.

i pretty much ignore the comments and do what is best for my kids. a few of
you have mentioned the sheer number of students makes it difficult to do
certain things. i can relate with over 170 last year. i like the idea of
postcards or someone else once told me to call all of the parents the first
week
of school. neither one works for me because of all the changes and i just am
so busy the first few weeks of school, i simply cannot find the time. i love
the postcard idea though! thanks for sharing. :)

keep the ideas coming! :)
