He starts high school next year and will live away from me during the week in order to attend a higher quality school. He has his first 'man haircut' (meaning I didn't cut it), sprouted up about 3 inches this summer and is just plain growing up. Somehow this series of books has in some way defined our relationship over the past ten years. Mother-son bonding over midnight book parties...
