I heard a part of an episode of “Humankind,” a public radio show on my way home
from my school’s open house that I think many of you would enjoy. The show was
part of a series on “Educating the Whole Person, Enlightened teachers and
parents discuss the heart of education: the duty to impart wisdom to the next
generation” and Parker Palmer and Nell Noddings were the two educators who were
sharing their ideas. You can hear an excerpt by going to
http://www.humanmedia.org/catalog/home.php then clicking on the icon,
“Educating the Whole Person.” On that page, look for Program # 2, “Teaching
from Within.”

Maybe your local public radio station will air the show at a different time.
One can order a CD of it, too.

people to make it worthwhile." --Herm Alvright, writer.
