As a 6th grade teacher once upon a time, I taught Maroo of the Winter Caves.
It is a chapter book that does deal with themes of family, siblings, the older
matriarch of the clan, survival, responsibility and it is set in the Ice Age.
It does a good job in creating what it might have been like based on the
research done by the author.
