I have used Studentales with my 8th graders the past 4 years. It is only $1 per child and each student gets their very own hard back, full color book that contains only their story/artwork. They get the first book for the $1 and then they may order additional books at a cost of around $15. The only problem that I've found this year is that Studentales only publishes the middle/high school books through December and our new curriculum map has us doing narratives in the spring. I know I could do it with another genre, but this year was just too hectic to work it in. I usually try to get my publishing date in late November so that I can get my books back in time for Christmas. Many students order extras for gifts. We usually have an authors' tea when we give them their published books for the first time.
