I would agree. Todd Strasser has donated part of the profits from the book to gun control charities and he puts lots of pro-gun control statistics in the footnotes that are found throughout the book. I used the book several years ago with honors 8th graders who really loved it. One even remarked, "This book should be required reading for all 8th graders." I would be more concerned with the reaction of parents who have not read the book but who may respond fearfully to the title. I think it's a great and important book to share with students.
