Oh, I also wanted to add that in my *ideal* school all middle school reading
teachers would have Multiple Subject Credential - not single subject. In my
state, there is no class on how to teach reading for single subject
credentials.

Actually, in an ideal world, middle school would have its OWN credential and
1 credential would be middle school language arts.
