End of lit Digest, Vol 31, Issue 7
**********************************
We've been doing Reading and Writing Workshop for 10 years now, and two
thoughts I would add: If you are currently using a basal, take note of the
skills covered and prioritize them (so you get essential skills taught
before the state testing), if you aren't using a basal, check the elementary
scope and sequence for your grade level in their basal. It's a big help to
see what they deem essential, along with your state's eligible content. I
highly recommend Abra Vocabra by Cottonwood Press. We use it for 6th and 7th
grade vocab and it's practical, well organized and covers many many affixes.
It's very inexpensive and we have used it for 7 years.
