We used the Edge this past year with a limited number of students in an intervention classroom. The teacher using it got it late in the year, so about half a year of implementation. She LOVED IT, the kids loved it. We will be using the higher level for our incoming freshman this year (about 60% are below grade level) and expanding its use in our RtI classroom. The RtI will utilize a team teaching (English Teacher/Reading Teacher) in an A/B format that will also allow the students to meet in extended blocks for an entire year, earning a semester's credit in freshman English and one in reading. I am excited to see it fully implemented.
Michael Smith was involved in the development--I would certainly reading Reading Don't Fix No Chevys and Going With the Flow.
