Wow..lucky you! I teach 6th. grade reading and writing workshop as well, and 
have used "Lessons.." as well as the poetry resource she published a few years 
ago. I use the approach Nancie did with reading journals (I.e. twice weekly 
letters) and wondered how she had changed this - as she writes that she has in 
"The Reading Zone". I would love to hear how writing workshop was implemented, 
and what you learned from observing at her school.  How was time managed, and 
how were the writing conferences run/timed?

  I just got back from interning with Nancie at her school in Maine.  My 
teaching partner and I have been using her "Lessons...." for a few years.  I
