I LOVE Frank Serafini! So real and practical. Thanks for putting his name out there.

I see that a lot of people are using Atwell's workshop ideas which sound great, but does anyone use Frank Serafini's reading workshop books? The main book is "The Reading Workshop" and then he gives a monthly snapshot of what he would do in "Around the World in 180 Days" and he has further support for his minilessons in "Lessons in Comprehension". He also has a very detailed website including all of his booklists and research on www.frankserafini.com. His approach seems very similar to Atwell', yet I just started using his approach last year so it is hard to tell. It would be great to compare the two approaches! I LOVE this list! My only complaint is I find it really hard to wade through the digest to find the posts. I have ADHD and I find my head is spinning by the time I'm done reading. Anybody have any suggestions for helping me "digest" the digest? That is one of the reasons why I thought about having the Book Study on a blog instead of a discussion board like this or teachers.net, because the comments are all in one spot (you don't have to keep opening windows) and you can subscribe to a feed and get any comments sent to your feeder. I hate to complain because I love it here, just wondering if there is anything I could do to make it easier. Thanks so much! _______________________________________________ The Literacy Workshop ListServ http://www.literacyworkshop.org To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/lit_literacyworkshop.org.
