Oh ok, I understand now! So I'm assuming they have the basic structure of the narrative? You could stretch a moment- have them expand a moment in their narrative. Effective dialogue, Further developing characters, make sure their ending is an ending and not just "the end". The "So What" of the narrative- why should the audience care? What's the point of the narrative?
You know, instead of doing a generic lesson for all the students, you could look at their narratives and see what common needs the students have and group them.
